Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Direct physical therapy treatment plans aimed at alleviating pain, enhancing mobility, and preventing disability in clients, aligned with prescribed care protocols.
• Supervise and guide Physical Therapy Assistants in the implementation of treatment plans, ensuring compliance with established standards of care.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of client functionality using diagnostic muscle, nerve, and joint testing to create targeted treatment strategies.
• Assess the home environment of clients when necessary and recommend modifications to aid rehabilitation efforts and promote independence.
• Administer therapeutic exercises and instruct clients on maintaining their exercise routines for optimal recovery.
• Utilize techniques such as massage, traction, and application of physical agents to enhance treatment effectiveness.
• Evaluate and fit prosthetic and orthotic devices, advising physicians on necessary modifications.
• Document clinical records comprehensively, including initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, collaborating with healthcare professionals to review and enhance total patient care.
• Provide education and consultation to clients and families regarding therapy techniques and ongoing care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work primarily with adult and elderly patients, as well as individuals experiencing a range of physical impairments and recovery needs. Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required to ensure comprehensive knowledge and expertise.
• An active Physical Therapist license in Virginia, without any history of sanctions or board proceedings.

• Strong familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) software, specifically Web PT, for accurate documentation.

Compensation and Benefits
