Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, including preliminary interviews, to accurately assess clients' needs and document their cases throughout the treatment journey.

• Develop individualized treatment plans and intervention strategies tailored to varied client demographics, ranging from individuals to families and groups.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that create a safe and constructive space for discussion and healing.
\n
• Monitor and document clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary while maintaining open lines of communication with clients and their support networks.

• Collaborate closely with a network of healthcare professionals, including other mental health specialists and social workers, to create comprehensive intervention plans.

• Coordinate follow-up care with psychiatrists and primary care physicians for clients who may require hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care and support.

• Identify and mitigate behaviors that may hinder clients' recovery, offering strategies and resources for personal growth.

• Engage and support families and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges, fostering a community of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The clientele at Wise Recovery Counseling Center is diverse, representing various ages, backgrounds, and mental health challenges. Our mental health counselors will work with individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and co-occurring disorders, ensuring each client receives tailored support reflective of their unique circumstances. A strong emphasis is placed on culturally competent care, recognizing the essential role that background plays in mental health experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Massachusetts.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on active listening and empathy.

• Adept in using electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, to efficiently manage patient documentation and care coordination.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience functioning as a mental health counselor, particularly in a community clinic or similar environment.

• Experience working with clients facing dual diagnoses, including underlying physical health conditions and addiction disorders.

• Familiarity with American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices, ensuring high standards of service delivery.

• In-depth knowledge of psychiatric medications and how they can impact client treatment plans.

• Strong interpersonal skills with a capacity to build rapport quickly with clients from all walks of life.
