Inner Canvas Wellness is seeking a dedicated and flexible Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This position will primarily focus on providing Intensive In-community therapeutic services to children with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges across Norfolk, Virginia. This role offers a unique remote work setting combined with periodic in-person interactions at our outpatient office. Our organization prioritizes work-life balance and flexibility, allowing you to accommodate your schedule while dedicating 5-10 hours per week during peak after-school hours (4-7 PM). Weekend availability is also beneficial, enabling you to better serve families within their preferred timelines.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual in-home therapy sessions and group therapy workshops designed to address specific behavioral challenges.
\n
• Implement evidence-based techniques to help children develop anger management, coping skills, and social skills while reducing high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behaviors and physical aggression.
\n
• Enhance decision-making skills for youth and their caregivers to navigate everyday challenges effectively, fostering healthier family dynamics.
\n
• Collaborate actively with the Child Family Treatment Team and other interdisciplinary professionals, ensuring a comprehensive support network for each family.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to set deadlines.
\n
• Participate in monthly meetings to discuss case progress and provide actionable recommendations for care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work primarily with children aged 3-20, focusing on those with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Your role is crucial in providing tailored support to each individual, helping them develop the skills they need to thrive. By fostering positive behavior change and nurturing relationships with families, you will be instrumental in improving outcomes for these children and their caregivers.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license is necessary to practice.

• A valid driver's license and access to a registered vehicle are mandatory for travel to in-home sessions.

• Ability to pass a comprehensive criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is essential for safeguarding our clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience providing positive behavior support within a clinical or educational setting is highly desired.

• Experience working with children who have intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD) will be regarded as an asset.

Compensation and Benefits\n
