Life Carriage Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our exceptional team. As a critical member of our outpatient care unit, you will offer specialized therapeutic services to individuals affected by trauma, including those living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Work Environment\n

This position is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility in your work setting, while still being part of a cohesive outpatient team dedicated to trauma recovery. We adhere to a work schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility to adjust as required based on the needs of clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to gauge patients’ trauma histories and determine effective treatment modalities.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans, focusing on facilitating trauma recovery and enhancing resilience through specific therapeutic techniques.

• Utilize evidence-based interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to deliver impactful therapy sessions.

• Lead both individual and group therapy sessions, providing a therapeutic space for clients to process their experiences, cultivate coping strategies, and promote overall healing.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and coordinated care tailored to individual patient needs.

• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring the safety and stability of clients.

• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, healthy coping mechanisms, and relevant community resources.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role will predominantly focus on working with individuals who have experienced significant trauma, necessitating a sensitive and well-informed approach. Our clients often come from diverse backgrounds and present a variety of trauma-related disorders, including PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. You will be instrumental in guiding them through their recovery process, allowing them to reclaim their lives and develop lasting coping mechanisms.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to therapy.

• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations, demonstrating resilience and a solution-focused mindset.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant computer applications.
