Work Environment

This position is in an onsite assisted living facility, where we provide care to a diverse population of elderly patients. As a Dermatology Nurse Practitioner, you will not only contribute to the clinical care but also advocate for patient comfort and understanding, ensuring they are actively involved in their treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments including history taking, physical examinations, and dermatologic evaluations to create individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care effectively and address any dermatological concerns.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding skin conditions, treatment options, and post-treatment care through compassionate and clear communication.
• Perform dermatological procedures including biopsies, excisions, and cosmetic treatments, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory standards.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing training and in-service education to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate protective clothing and equipment during patient interactions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be primarily caring for elderly patients residing in the assisted living facility, many of whom may have complex dermatological issues. Your role entails understanding the unique needs and concerns of this population, providing age-appropriate care, and ensuring that treatments align with their overall health goals and preferences.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree in Nursing, with a focus on primary care or a related field.
• Credentialing as a Nurse Practitioner (NP-C) with current state licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of dermatological disorders and familiarity with cosmetic procedures is essential.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of one year’s experience working as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in a dermatology or geriatric setting.
• Strong decision-making abilities and a demonstrated capacity for independent practice are highly valued.
• Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits

Derma Experts offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 120,000 to USD 300,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. We provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
