Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews and document client cases from initial consultations through to successful treatment conclusion.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health using standardized assessment strategies and diagnostic tools.
\n
• Design and implement customized intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, adapting to unique circumstances and cultural backgrounds.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions focused on skill-building, coping strategies, and personal growth.
\n
• Continuously monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed in response to their evolving needs and feedback.
\n
• Collaborate with a diverse array of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure integrated care for clients.

• Follow up on clients admitted to hospitals, coordinating with psychiatrists and attending physicians for ongoing evaluation.

• Identify potential barriers to recovery and work proactively to prevent behaviors that hinder clients' progress.

• Assist family members and primary caregivers in navigating mental health challenges while promoting a supportive home environment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The mental health counselor will serve a diverse array of clients, including individuals from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our focus encompasses a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. The counselor will adapt therapeutic approaches to meet the varied needs of children, adolescents, adults, and families, always prioritizing client-centered care that respects each individual’s values and circumstances.

Qualifications\n

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities to foster trust with clients.

• Proficiency in using electronic health records, especially systems like AVATAR, for effective documentation and management of client care.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor in outpatient settings, with a strong clinical background.

• Knowledge of co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions and addiction disorders.

• Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• In-depth understanding of medications commonly prescribed in the treatment of mental health issues and their impacts.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually, complemented by a sign-on bonus.
