Child & Family Care Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for a full-time position in a remote school-based setting, primarily serving the Austin, Texas area. The ideal candidate will possess a strong desire to work with under-served populations, bringing mental health support and therapeutic services directly to clients experiencing major mental illnesses and severe emotional disorders.

Work Environment

This position is entirely remote, allowing for flexible work arrangements while maintaining engagement with clients within a school facility context. You will collaborate with a diverse team of professionals to provide critical mental health services and support in an educational setting, ensuring that students receive the guidance they need to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical services to assigned clients, managing a caseload that includes assessments, individual, group, and family therapy tailored to the specific needs of children and adolescents.
• Conduct brief, evidence-based screenings for developmental and emotional concerns, and, when necessary, arrange for more comprehensive assessments.
• Create and implement integrated care plans, ensuring seamless coordination between various service providers, family members, and healthcare systems to support each client’s needs.
• Engage in crisis intervention efforts, employing de-escalation techniques and therapeutic practices to support clients in distress.
• Regularly monitor client progress and treatment efficacy, adjusting care plans as necessary to focus on presenting issues and treatment goals.
• Maintain compliance with professional ethical guidelines and organizational policies, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety for clients.
• Participate actively in team meetings and committees focused on quality improvement and service delivery enhancements within the agency.
• Provide timely documentation and data submission regarding treatment outcomes and client interactions to inform ongoing clinical practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses primarily on children and adolescents who are facing significant mental health challenges, including major illnesses and severe emotional disorders. As a therapist, you will address a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral concerns while working closely with families to foster a supportive environment for each child’s recovery and growth.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
• Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas.
• Expert knowledge of assessment and treatment methodologies relevant to children and adolescents.
• Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, while exhibiting strong organizational and planning skills.
• Competency in recognizing age-specific needs and developmental challenges inherent in the populations served.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of clinical experience working with children and families in a therapeutic capacity is strongly preferred.
• Experience working within educational settings or with school-based mental health programs is a plus.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and telehealth applications is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to 85,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
