Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews and document findings meticulously from initial consultation to discharge, ensuring continuity of care.

• Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health to accurately assess their needs and challenges.

• Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based interventions for individuals, couples, families, and groups tailored to their unique situations.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions focusing on therapeutic techniques that promote healing and personal growth.

• Monitor clients' progress regularly throughout the treatment process, adjusting plans as necessary to optimize their recovery journey.

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create and refine intervention plans that address each client's comprehensive needs, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach.

• Maintain open lines of communication with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients who may require hospitalization due to acute issues.

The clientele at North Oasis Behavioral Health Center encompasses a wide range of individuals facing varying mental health challenges, from anxiety and depression to complex trauma and addiction disorders. You’ll have the opportunity to work with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and families, tailoring therapeutic approaches to meet the unique cultural and emotional backgrounds of each client.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the State of New York is essential.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Prior experience as a mental health counselor is highly regarded.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as AVATAR to ensure detailed tracking and documentation of client progress.

• A deep understanding of how underlying physical health issues and addiction can affect mental health.

• Knowledge of American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices in therapy and counseling.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, allowing for clear reporting and client interactions.

• Strong interpersonal skills emphasizing empathy, understanding, and a genuine desire to assist others in their healing journey.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience delivering therapy in both individual and group settings.

• Background in crisis intervention and risk assessment procedures.

Compensation and Benefits\n
