Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews to assess clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health, documenting findings from the initial consultation through the course of treatment.

• Evaluate and analyze client needs to develop appropriate, tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based methodologies to encourage personal growth and healing.
\n
• Monitor client progress throughout treatment, making necessary adjustments to intervention plans as required.
\n
• Work alongside other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses to coordinate care and interventions effectively.
\n
• Provide follow-up care for clients transitioning from inpatient hospitalization to outpatient services, ensuring ongoing support.
\n
• Educate clients and their families on managing behavioral challenges, identifying potential barriers to recovery, and implementing preventive measures.
\n
• Document all interactions, treatment procedures, and patient's progress accurately in electronic health records using systems such as AVATAR.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a mental health counselor at Community Counseling Center, you will work with a diverse client population facing a variety of mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Your role is essential in promoting recovery, improving coping mechanisms, and fostering resilience within our clients. Through both individual and group therapy, you will assist clients in navigating complex emotional landscapes, ultimately empowering them to achieve their personal and therapeutic goals.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and current licensure as an LMFT, LPC/MHSP, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Tennessee.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, fostering positive relationships with clients and colleagues.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, showcasing a sympathetic and empathetic nature.

Preferred Experience\n

• Proven experience working as a mental health counselor, with a demonstrated ability to handle complex cases.

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR.

• Knowledge of substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.

• Familiarity with best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Awareness of the effects of psychotropic medications prescribed by medical professionals and their implications on mental health treatment.

• Understanding the cultural competence required to engage effectively with diverse populations.

The Community Counseling Center offers a competitive salary package ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, accompanied by a sign-on bonus.
