You will utilize advanced electronic health record (EHR) systems, such as AVATAR, to document client interactions, track progress, and share insights with other healthcare professionals involved in client care.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews to assess client needs and establish a comprehensive case history from the initial consultation through the conclusion of treatment.

• Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health to inform treatment planning and adjustments.
\n
• Develop and implement tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring that each plan aligns with evidence-based practices.

• Facilitate engaging and effective individual and group therapy sessions, adapting techniques to meet varied client needs.
\n
• Monitor and document client progress throughout treatment, making necessary adjustments to intervention plans as indicated by evolving client circumstances.

• Engage in collaborative care by working closely with other mental health specialists, physicians, nurses, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive treatment efforts.

• Maintain communication with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients requiring hospital admission or other specialized medical interventions.

• Identify potential obstacles to recovery and implement strategies to mitigate these challenges, ensuring sustained client progress.

• Provide support and guidance to family members and primary caregivers in managing the mental and behavioral challenges associated with their loved ones' conditions.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your counseling work will primarily serve diverse populations, including individuals grappling with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and relational issues. You will employ a range of therapeutic modalities and interventions based on each client’s unique background and experiences. Your ability to cultivate a supportive atmosphere will be crucial in empowering clients to address their mental health concerns.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure in Texas as an LMFT, LPC, LCSW, or equivalent.

• Demonstrated expertise with passing scores on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).

• Experience in mental health counseling with a solid understanding of diverse therapeutic techniques.
\n
• Proficient in utilizing electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, for documentation and treatment planning.

• Familiarity with co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders.
\n
• Understanding and adherence to the best practices set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills complemented by excellent interpersonal abilities and an empathetic approach.

Preferred Experience\n

• Two or more years of direct client-facing experience in a counseling setting.

• Active involvement in mentoring or guiding peers in therapeutic practices.

• Knowledge of the psychotropic medications prescribed by medical professionals and their impacts on mental health clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications, with the opportunity for a sign-on bonus.
