This position is primarily remote, allowing for flexible work arrangements while also engaging with patients at our outpatient office in Huntington, New York. Our ideal therapist will embrace a collaborative atmosphere that thrives on teamwork, utilizing weekly consultations with psychiatrists, addiction specialists, and fellow therapists to coordinate comprehensive care. The work schedule generally runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with some evening shifts required based on patient availability and needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-depth assessments to identify individual needs, vulnerabilities, and treatment goals for clients seeking help with substance use disorders.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that focus on measurable outcomes for recovery, focusing on the most effective and evidence-based therapeutic practices.

• Facilitate one-on-one counseling sessions using methodologies such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy tailored to the unique circumstances of each patient.

• Lead group therapy sessions that encourage peer support and shared experiences, fostering community and understanding among individuals in recovery.

• Work closely with psychiatrists and addiction specialists to ensure well-rounded, consistent care across all treatment modalities.

• Provide crisis intervention services and immediate support during emergencies related to substance use, prioritizing patient safety and rapid response.

• Ensure meticulous documentation of all patient interactions, adhering to ethical guidelines and legal requirements to protect client confidentiality.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is on individuals dealing with substance use disorders, which may include a diverse range of backgrounds and needs. Patients may come from various socioeconomic circumstances and may have co-occurring mental health conditions. The therapist will help patients build coping strategies and life skills that support ongoing recovery and stability.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A valid state license as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT is a must.

• Deep understanding of substance use disorders, recovery methods, and various therapeutic modalities.

• Demonstrable experience in delivering both individual and group therapy, especially in addiction recovery settings.
