Our work schedule typically runs Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to evaluate patient needs and identify appropriate therapeutic interventions.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy.

• Facilitate psychoeducational and support groups that foster community and address common mental health challenges.
\n
• Work closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to coordinate care and contribute to holistic treatment approaches.

• Provide crisis intervention services and support during mental health emergencies, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
\n
• Educate patients on their mental health conditions and treatment options, as well as connect them to community resources.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required by legal and ethical standards, ensuring patient confidentiality.

• Engage in regular team meetings to contribute to case discussions and enhance collective knowledge within the practice.

• Stay current with developments in mental health treatment to continually improve therapeutic techniques and patient care strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work with a diverse client base that includes individuals experiencing a broad spectrum of mental health issues, from anxiety and depression to substance abuse challenges. You will provide tailored therapeutic support, recognizing and respecting each patient's unique background and experiences. Your work will not only focus on treatment but also on empowering your clients to understand their mental health and foster resilience.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Virginia is required.

• Robust understanding of various mental health diagnoses and evidence-based treatment modalities.
\n
• Proven skills in conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and developing effective treatment plans.

• Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy in a remote or outpatient setting.
\n
• Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities.
\n
• Sound professional judgment and adherence to ethical guidelines.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other digital tools.

• Ability to function well in a team-based environment.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of 2 years of direct experience as a mental health counselor is required, candidates with additional experience in specialized therapeutic settings or specific populations (such as children, adolescents, or individuals with substance use disorders) will be viewed favorably. Familiarity with telehealth practices and techniques is also advantageous, as we continue to adapt our services to fit changing patient needs.
