Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Counselor, you will perform a range of essential duties, including:

• Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments to ascertain the specific needs of patients and devising personalized treatment plans that are tailored to each individual's circumstances.

• Delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals, couples, and families, utilizing a variety of techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy.

• Facilitating psychoeducational workshops and support groups that enable clients to connect with one another and learn coping strategies for managing mental health challenges.

• Collaborating seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.

• Providing timely crisis intervention services to assist patients in acute mental health emergencies.

• Educating patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment approaches, and available community resources to promote informed decision-making.

Qualifications\n

To excel in this position, candidates should hold:

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid licensure as either a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Virginia.

• A solid understanding of diverse mental health disorders and effective treatment modalities.

• Proven capability in conducting thorough mental health assessments and formulating successful treatment initiatives.

• Strong interpersonal skills along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Preferred Experience\n

Ideal candidates will have at least two years of relevant experience in clinical mental health counseling, with a track record of delivering therapy to individuals and groups from various backgrounds.
