Work Environment

The Physical Therapist will work onsite at our Dulles Rehabilitation Center, which boasts a collaborative atmosphere and state-of-the-art facilities equipped for comprehensive rehabilitation services. Key Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at relieving pain, preventing disabilities, and promoting mobility.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' physical conditions using diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve, joint, and functional abilities tests.
• Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring the correct implementation of treatment plans and promoting teamwork.
• Administer therapeutic interventions including manual exercises, mechanical traction, and soft tissue treatments while educating clients on additional therapeutic activities.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members during case conferences, contributing to comprehensive care planning and treatment evaluations.
• Make actionable recommendations concerning the clients' home environments to facilitate their independence and improve their living conditions.
• Maintain meticulous clinical records, encompassing initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, to ensure continuity of care.
• Assess, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices as needed, providing expert recommendations to medical staff for necessary modifications.
• Engage with clients and their families to educate them on the importance of following prescribed therapy regimes and care techniques.
• Be accessible to Physical Therapy Assistants to provide guidance and support during client treatment sessions.
• Participate in organizational initiatives, contributing to the continuous improvement of practices and patient care standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse group of patients who are recovering from various physical ailments, including post-surgical rehabilitation, chronic pain management, and mobility impairments. Qualifications

• Possession of a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• A current, unencumbered Physical Therapist license in the state of Virginia.
• Demonstrable expertise in manual therapy techniques and proven competency in developing individualized exercise programs.
• Effective documentation skills using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, especially WebPT.
• A strong foundation in current physical therapy methodologies based on the latest research and evidence-based practices.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of relevant practice experience in an outpatient or rehabilitation setting.
• Experience with patient education and working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with home care environments and their unique challenges related to therapy interventions and patient management.
