Work Environment

You will be working onsite in our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility located in South River, NJ. This facility is equipped with advanced therapeutic technologies and tools that assist in patient recovery. Our interdisciplinary team includes physicians, physical therapy assistants, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals, all working collaboratively to ensure that patients achieve their rehabilitation goals in a supportive and positive atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on comprehensive evaluations of each patient's needs, goals, and functional abilities.
• Conduct thorough assessments utilizing various diagnostic procedures, including muscle strength, joint range of motion, and functional capabilities, to inform treatment decisions.
• Provide hands-on care by administering therapeutic exercises, neuromuscular re-education, manual therapy techniques, and other interventions that relieve pain and enhance mobility.
• Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure the continuity of care and compliance with the established treatment plans.
• Regularly assess and modify treatment strategies based on patient progress, and communicate these changes with relevant team members such as physicians and case managers.
• Participate in team meetings and interdisciplinary conferences to evaluate patient care and outcomes, ensuring a holistic approach to rehabilitation.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes, evaluations, and discharge summaries, meeting both clinical and regulatory standards.
• Educate and coach patients and their families on rehabilitation practices, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery process.
• Contribute to patient education initiatives by preparing materials and conducting sessions that promote long-term health and wellness.
• Engage in professional development opportunities and stay current with advancements in orthopedic rehabilitation practices to enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position will focus on a diverse patient population that includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, chronic pain conditions, and neurological disorders. You will be instrumental in helping patients regain independence and functionality by employing evidence-based practices tailored to each patient's unique circumstances.

Qualifications

• Current Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• Active state licensure as a Physical Therapist in New Jersey.
• A minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience in orthopedic physical therapy.
• Current CPR certification is required.

Preferred Experience

Experience in a rehabilitation facility or similar setting is highly desirable. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems, manual therapy techniques, and up-to-date knowledge of orthopedic rehabilitation protocols will enhance your success in this role.

Compensation and Benefits
