Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing personalized treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Perform hands-on therapy through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and patient education about exercise techniques.
• Continuously monitor and document patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary in conjunction with the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to communicate patient progress and barriers effectively.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and medical records, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and state regulations.
• Educate patients and their families about recovery strategies, enhancing their understanding of treatment goals and expected outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on orthopedic patients recovering from surgery, injury, or chronic musculoskeletal conditions. This involves interacting with a diverse patient population, from young athletes to older adults, all of whom require personalized care plans to restore function and mobility. Understanding the specific challenges faced by orthopedic patients will be crucial for effective rehabilitation and outcome measures.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree related to Physical Therapy is required, with a focus on foundational knowledge in physiotherapy practices.
• An active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) state license is mandatory to practice in New York.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an orthopedic capacity is essential to ensure familiarity with relevant practices and patient interactions.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to accurately assess patient needs and document care.

Compensation and Benefits
