Work Environment

Your workplace will be dynamic and patient-focused, taking place primarily in patients' homes. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, and nursing staff, to ensure comprehensive and personalized treatment. This role requires adaptability to different home environments and the ability to maintain high standards of care irrespective of location.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial and ongoing evaluations of patients to establish their physical therapy needs and measure progress according to established state and professional standards.
• Assess and analyze mobility, strength, and functional capabilities to set realistic goals tailored to each patient's lifestyle and recovery aspirations.
• Develop comprehensive and customized treatment plans that encompass both short-term and long-term goals, incorporating input from other healthcare professionals as necessary.
• Implement treatment plans consistently, modifying them based on ongoing patient assessments and feedback to optimize rehabilitation progress.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of treatment progress, adhering to both legal and facility protocols for medical records.
• Engage in continuing education opportunities to enhance professional skills and knowledge, contributing to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction.
• Assist colleagues and contribute to a clean, organized, and therapeutic environment conducive to effective rehabilitation.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will treat a diverse range of patients, primarily focusing on individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions affecting mobility. Your approach will be tailored to various demographics, from young athletes to elderly patients, ensuring that rehabilitation goals are appropriately crafted to meet their unique challenges and life situations.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current and active Physical Therapy license in Virginia.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) with AED.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience providing physical therapy in a clinical or home care setting.
• A deep sense of empathy and a passion for motivating patients, along with a commitment to fostering a supportive and encouraging therapeutic environment.
• Familiarity with therapeutic equipment, along with a proactive approach to equipment maintenance and patient safety.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of 2 years of experience is required, candidates with advanced degrees such as a Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy and specialized certifications (e.g., Orthopedic Clinical Specialist) are highly preferred. Experience in home care settings or with specific orthopedic populations will give you an edge in this role.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with your experience. In addition to a robust salary, our benefits package includes:
