Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Trauma, Orthopedic, and Surgical unit with a 1:4–5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for a high volume of post-operative transplant and Whipple patients, as well as spine, orthopedic joint, and trauma cases
• Perform and maintain competency in sterile field procedures including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Monitor patients via telemetry (Philips) and manage ventilatory support including BiPAP and CPAP
• Document accurately using Cerner EMR and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including 24/7 RT and Pharmacy
• Fulfill weekend requirements (3 shifts per 4-week period) and participate in holiday rotation with permanent staff

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (two attempts permitted)
• Must demonstrate competency in sterile field technique; SIMs Lab assessment (pass/fail) completed on Day 1 of orientation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with post-operative transplant or Whipple patients
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
• Experience floating to Medical/Surgical or Telemetry floors
