Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to identify the mental health needs of students, utilizing screening tools and interviews to facilitate effective treatment planning.

• Provide short-term individual counseling and crisis intervention, addressing issues ranging from anxiety to academic pressure and social challenges.

• Facilitate therapy groups and workshops, focusing on relevant topics such as stress management, conflict resolution, and personal development to empower students.

• Collaborate with campus partners, including academic advisors and student organizations, to implement a holistic support network that champions student mental health.

• Engage in proactive outreach and prevention initiatives, executing mental health awareness campaigns and wellness events designed to cultivate a positive environment.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential records of all counseling sessions in adherence to ethical and regulatory standards, ensuring privacy and compliance.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is on students attending schools within the Armagh region, who may be experiencing various mental health challenges. Our counselors are expected to understand the specific issues that impact young adults, including adjustment challenges, academic stress, and social anxieties. By building rapport and understanding the unique circumstances of each student, you will enhance their ability to thrive both academically and personally.

Qualifications\n

• A valid and active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).

• A minimum of a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required.

• Demonstrated knowledge of the mental health issues faced by college students, along with effective intervention strategies.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling meaningful engagement with students and collaboration across campus.

• Familiarity with evidence-based practices and short-term therapy models aligned with university counseling center methodologies.

• A proactive attitude and ability to manage a diverse caseload in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, candidates with experience in a school environment, especially addressing the mental health needs of adolescents and young adults, will be given preference. We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and credentials.
