Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations in the field alongside law enforcement to assess the need for involuntary detention under 5150/5585 applications, ensuring individuals receive appropriate care as swiftly as possible.

• Collaborate with police staff to train and provide guidance on methods of addressing mental health crises, focusing on de-escalation techniques that prioritize the safety and dignity of all parties involved.

• Offer short-term crisis counseling to individuals experiencing non-violent mental health episodes, employing interventional strategies tailored to individual needs.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient information, adhering strictly to HIPAA regulations and organizational protocols.

• Effectively communicate and liaise with law enforcement, crisis stabilization units (CSUs), hospital staff, and psychiatrists to coordinate comprehensive care and treatment plans.

• Accompany law enforcement on mental health responses as necessary, providing expert clinical support to enhance the response team's effectiveness.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily support individuals facing mental health challenges, including those in crisis situations. Your clientele will encompass arrestees who require mental health assessments, community members seeking immediate assistance, and various vulnerable populations needing guidance. Your role is crucial in fostering a compassionate response to their needs while facilitating access to appropriate mental health resources, such as clinics and shelters.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required; a Master's Degree in Counseling or a related discipline is preferred.

• Current and valid Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) license.

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while adhering to clinical protocols.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
