Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions either in clients' homes or virtually, focusing on children and adolescents with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

• Implement therapeutic techniques aimed at managing behavioral challenges, including anger management, coping strategies, and social skills training, while also addressing high-risk behaviors such as self-injury and physical aggression.

• Support families by enhancing decision-making skills to effectively manage in-home behavioral challenges.
\n
• Engage in consistent collaboration with the Child Family Treatment Team, as well as other involved professionals, to coordinate and optimize care for clients.
\n
• Document and submit all required therapeutic paperwork, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, within established timelines.
\n
• Attend monthly inter-disciplinary meetings to discuss cases, share insights, and create recommendations for improved client outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is on addressing the needs of children aged 3-20, who present with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Your work will involve providing crucial behavioral support and therapeutic interventions that help these young clients and their families navigate challenges, thereby improving their overall quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license to practice in Texas is essential.
\n
• A minimum availability of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM) is necessary, with weekend availability considered a valuable asset.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are mandatory for client visits.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required prior to employment.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in delivering positive behavior support interventions is strongly preferred.

• Prior experience working with children and families facing challenges related to intellectual and developmental disabilities is highly beneficial.

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus, enabling greater accessibility to diverse client populations.

Compensation and Benefits\n
