Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, taking detailed notes from preliminary interviews and tracking client progress from the initial consultation through to the conclusion of treatment.

• Develop individualized treatment and intervention plans tailored to the specific needs of clients, which may include individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging and effective individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques and best practice methodologies.
\n
• Monitor client progress regularly, documenting changes and adjustments to treatment plans as necessary to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure a holistic approach to mental health management.
\n
• Follow protocol for developing and managing referrals to specialized services as needed, ensuring clients receive comprehensive care.
\n
• Proactively identify and address behaviors that may impede recovery, providing education and resources to clients and their family members during treatment.
\n
• Stay current with the latest developments in psychotherapy and mental health practices to enhance the quality of care provided.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You'll be working with a diverse patient population, including individuals grappling with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, and other mental health challenges. Your empathy and ability to connect will be vital in building trusting relationships, providing clients with a safe space to explore their feelings, thoughts, and recovery paths.

Qualifications\n

\n
• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
\n
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, necessary for documentation and consultations, are essential.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a genuine compassionate nature towards clients.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience as a mental health counselor with a demonstrated ability to manage various cases effectively and empathetically.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, for managing client information and tracking progress.
\n
• Experience working with clients facing underlying physical health issues and addiction disorders is preferred.
\n
• In-depth understanding of prescription medications and their effects in mental health treatment.
\n
• Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.
