Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner - Full-Time, Outpatient Care

Position Overview

Crossroad Pain and Orthopedics is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team in Elmira, New York. As an NP, you will work under the guidance of the Chief Nurse Practitioner and in collaboration with our Medical Director, ensuring that patients receive top-tier care in a supportive environment.

Work Environment

The work setting is the busy outpatient office, where you will engage directly with patients seeking treatment for orthopedic conditions. Key Responsibilities

In this role as an Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner, you will:

• Collaborate with orthopedic physicians and nurse practitioner colleagues to deliver comprehensive care.
• Perform detailed health assessments and physical examinations of patients.
• Manage chronic conditions such as hypertension and hyperlipidemia, tailoring treatment plans to individual patient needs.
• Provide specialized outpatient services, including electrophysiology for patients with arrhythmias and management of device patients.
• Treat acute conditions like coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, and congestive heart failure, ensuring timely and effective intervention.
• Conduct stress testing procedures and interpret results to guide treatment decisions.
• Engage in patient education, providing valuable information and support to improve health literacy and compliance.
• Refer patients to specialists within the organization as necessary to ensure comprehensive care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patient population you will engage with includes individuals suffering from a wide range of orthopedic issues, as well as those dealing with chronic and acute cardiovascular conditions. Your focus will be on delivering quality care that enhances mobility and reduces pain, prioritizing patient safety and comfort throughout their treatment journey.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• A Master's or Doctoral degree in nursing or a related field, demonstrating an advanced understanding of patient care.
• Current Nurse Practitioner certification and an active clinical license in New York.
• Experience in an orthopedic or similar medical setting, whether inpatient or outpatient, is preferred.

Preferred Experience

We welcome applications from both experienced Nurse Practitioners and recent graduates, particularly those who have exposure in acute care or orthopedic environments. Familiarity with pain management practices and cardiac care will be beneficial. Compensation and Benefits
