Key Responsibilities\n

• Provide critical mental health support to individuals in crisis by de-escalating situations, developing actionable care plans, and assessing the need for involuntary detentions under 5150/5585 regulations.

• Actively collaborate with police departments to train staff on mental health awareness and crisis intervention techniques, aiming to reduce potential use of force during encounters with arrestees.
\n
• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations during field calls to determine the appropriateness of psychiatric admissions, ensuring patients receive timely care.
\n
• Leverage case management skills to facilitate access to resources and monitor progress for clients in partnership with the Department of Mental Health and local psychiatric facilities.
\n
• Maintain meticulous, confidential records of client interactions and treatment plans in accordance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.

• Assist police officers in mental health crisis responses, ensuring that individuals in distress receive the compassionate care they require.
\n
• Deliver short-term crisis counseling to non-violent patients dealing with acute mental health episodes, helping them navigate immediate challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The target population includes individuals who have been arrested and community members experiencing acute or chronic mental health crises. This role will also involve working closely with families, law enforcement, and community organizations to create comprehensive support networks that facilitate recovery and long-term mental well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required, with a current LPCC license valid in California.

• The salary range for this position is competitive, offering between USD 80,000 and 122,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
