Work Environment

The physical therapist will work onsite at our outpatient office in Jersey City. Our facility is equipped with the latest therapeutic tools and technology, ensuring that you have everything you need to provide exceptional patient care. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians and other healthcare providers, to optimize patient outcomes. Variable weekend hours may be required, allowing for flexibility in patient scheduling.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients to identify functional limitations and disabilities, creating personalized treatment plans that promote recovery.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure a comprehensive continuum of care for each patient, addressing their unique needs and preferences throughout the rehabilitation process.
• Maintain adherence to customer service standards and interact with all patients with respect, regardless of age or cultural background, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to implement and adjust treatment plans, conducting regular evaluations to assess progress and modify interventions as necessary.
• Document all treatment sessions and patient progress accurately in electronic health records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and submission of charges for services rendered.
• Engage actively in leadership opportunities by participating in community outreach, quality improvement initiatives, marketing efforts, and program development.
• Supervise and mentor physical therapy assistants, aides, and students, fostering a supportive educational environment that encourages professional growth.
• Participate in staff meetings and ongoing education to remain current with best practices in the field and enhance your clinical competencies.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare providers in developing effective discharge plans that ensure continuity of care post-rehabilitation.
• Maintain good standing with the state licensure board and adhere to all professional standards and regulatory requirements in your practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our diverse patient population includes individuals of all ages, many of whom are recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, or chronic pain conditions. You will be responsible for delivering tailored therapeutic interventions and educational resources that empower patients and their families, enabling them to take an active role in their recovery journey.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is mandatory.
• A valid state license in Physical Therapy is required to practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary to ensure optimal safety standards.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as proficient computer literacy for documentation and coordination purposes.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in an outpatient setting is highly desirable, particularly with adult and geriatric populations.
• Experience with advanced therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation techniques enhances your candidacy.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical documentation best practices will be advantageous.
