Position Overview

Work Environment

This role is based in our outpatient office located in Newark, New Jersey. You will work a standard schedule of 40 hours per week, with variable weekends depending on patient needs. Our facility is equipped with modern treatment areas designed to facilitate patient therapy in a comfortable and safe setting. Key Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients to develop individualized treatment plans based on their specific needs and goals.
• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive and continuous patient care.
• Provide high-quality therapy services, including evaluating, treating, and documenting each patient's progress according to established standards.
• Maintain clear and detailed documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes to comply with legal and ethical standards.
• Engage in professional development through participation in team meetings, workshops, and continuing education courses.
• Lead and participate in community outreach initiatives to increase awareness of physical therapy services and enhance community wellness.
• Supervise and mentor support staff, including physical therapy assistants, aides, and students.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with adult patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, and various orthopedic conditions. Your role will also involve educating patients and their families on treatment plans and home exercise programs to foster independence and self-management of their conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy is required.
• Active State License in Physical Therapy in New Jersey is mandatory.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records is essential.

Preferred Experience

Applicants with at least 2 years of experience in outpatient physical therapy settings are preferred. Experience working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and familiarity with evidence-based practices will be considered advantageous.
