Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through initial consultations, documenting client histories and identifying mental, behavioral, and emotional health concerns.

• Develop individualized treatment plans that encompass evidence-based interventions for individuals, couples, and families, tailoring approaches to fit unique situations.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing therapeutic techniques to work through issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and more.

• Regularly monitor client progress throughout treatment, adjusting intervention strategies as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Collaborate actively with other healthcare professionals, ensuring all aspects of a client’s health are addressed, including coordinating care with hospital psychiatrists and attending physicians.

• Proactively identify and mitigate behaviors that may hinder recovery, providing education and support to clients and their families.

• Manage referrals to additional services or specialists when necessary, serving as a resource for clients throughout their mental health journey.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will largely focus on serving a diverse outpatient patient population that includes individuals facing conditions such as anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related disorders, and more. You will be instrumental in guiding clients towards recovery and improved mental health through personalized intervention strategies and supportive counseling.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Jersey.

• Successful completion and passing of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Previous experience in a mental health counseling role is highly desirable.

• Proficiency in using electronic health recording systems, specifically AVATAR or similar technologies.
