2026-27 AY Lecturer Pool - Social Work Job no: 555679 Work type: Instructional Faculty - Temporary/Lecturer Location: Los Angeles Categories: Unit 3 - CFA - California Faculty Association, Faculty - Social Sciences, Temporary, Part Time College: Rongxiang Xu College of Health and Human Services Position Title: 2026-27 AY Lecturer Pool - Social Work School: School of Social Work Instructional Faculty – Part-time Temporary/Lecturer Pool Position Overview We are seeking part‑time faculty lecturers who will be hired on a conditional appointment basis, filling instructional needs as they arise during the 2026‑2027 academic year. Initial appointments are typically for one semester, with occasional full‑year appointments, and may be renewed based on department needs, funding, and performance. Faculty may need to be available on short notice. Responsibilities Duties of part‑time faculty lecturers include instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours. Other duties may be assigned based on departmental needs. Course assignments, including dates, times, and modality, are made by the Department Chair under the direction of the College Dean. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in social work or related fields from an accredited university Ability to relate well to others within the academic environment and demonstrate interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural setting Demonstrated experience and commitment to student‑centered learning and teaching Proficiency in written and oral use of the English language Preferred Qualifications Experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment Relevant work experience and training in the field Doctoral or terminal degree Salary The initial salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary ranges per full‑time equivalent for each rank are as follows: Lecturer A/2 – $5,507 – $6,677 per month Lecturer B/3 – $6,221 – $13,224 per month Lecturer C/4 – $6,825 – $14,523 per month Lecturer D/5 – $8,593 – $15,211 per month The anticipated monthly hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
