Work Environment

This position is based in a home care setting, meaning you'll have the unique opportunity to work directly in patients' homes in the Deltona community. This environment allows for personalized interactions and treatment plans tailored to each individual's daily living situation. Your work hours will be Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a balanced work-life dynamic while you support our clientele.

Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Directing comprehensive physical therapy treatment plans that focus on relieving pain, preventing disabilities, and enhancing patients' muscular functions according to individualized care strategies.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients' functional abilities by employing an array of diagnostic tests on muscle, nerve, and joint functionality.
• Administering manual therapeutic exercises while also instructing and motivating patients to engage in non-manual therapeutic and functional activities.
• Utilizing a range of treatment modalities, such as traction and massage, to provide effective pain relief and enhance rehabilitation outcomes.
• Evaluating, fitting, and adjusting prosthetic and orthotic devices, while consulting with physicians for necessary modifications to optimize patient care.
• Maintaining accurate electronic medical records (EMR) to track patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on ongoing assessments.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be patients with orthopedic conditions, which may include sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, or degenerative diseases affecting mobility. You will interact with clients of all ages, providing education on injury prevention and wellness strategies to foster their independence and comfort in their daily activities.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution, with a preference for candidates who hold a Master's Degree or Doctorate in this field.
• An active and valid state license as a Physical Therapist.
• A minimum of two years of experience working in orthopedic settings, with exposure to geriatrics, acute care, and outpatient environments.
• Proficiency in conducting orthopedic assessments and developing patient-centric treatment plans reflecting best practices.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with an aptitude for problem-solving in dynamic care scenarios.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems to enhance therapy effectiveness and documentation accuracy.

Preferred Experience

Experience with specific rehabilitation techniques such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercise prescription, and modality application is highly desirable. Previous roles in home care settings will be beneficial for adapting to the unique challenges presented in a patient's home environment.
