Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough health assessments by obtaining detailed health histories and performing comprehensive physical examinations to understand each patient's pain profile.
• Prescribe and manage both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment options to address chronic and acute pain effectively.
• Educate patients regarding pain management strategies, expected outcomes, side effects of medications, and adherence to treatment regimens.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of healthcare professionals to devise and implement individualized pain management plans, adjusting them as needed based on patient response.
• Utilize strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills to evaluate and monitor patients with complex pain disorders, ensuring tailored treatment approaches.
• Develop proficiency in utilizing various diagnostic tests to identify the underlying causes of pain and inform treatment decisions.
• Perform interventional procedures such as nerve blocks and spinal injections, ensuring adherence to best practices for pain management.
• Maintain patient records meticulously and uphold compliance with healthcare regulations and safety protocols.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will provide care to a diverse patient population, including individuals experiencing chronic pain, post-surgical pain, and pain resulting from various medical conditions. Understanding the psychosocial aspects of pain management will be essential in developing effective strategies to improve the quality of life for our patients.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on pain management or a related field is required.
• Active and valid Nurse Practitioner license in New York State.
• At least two years of clinical experience in a pain management setting or a relevant healthcare environment.
• Strong foundational knowledge of pain disorders, treatments, and therapeutic modalities.
• Proficient in the assessment and evaluation of patients with complex and challenging pain conditions.
