Experienced Physical Therapist for Home-Based Orthopedic Care

Empower-Self Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Physical Therapist to join our team and play a vital role in helping patients regain their mobility and overall functionality. In this role, you will serve as a resource and ally to individuals on their rehabilitation journey, focusing on personalized treatment to enhance their quality of life.

Located in Newark, New Jersey, Empower-Self Physical Therapy is a physical therapist-owned practice specializing in orthopedic outpatient care, predominantly serving individuals with private medical insurance. Our state-of-the-art facility spans 5,000 square feet and includes advanced sports medicine equipment, allowing us to provide high-quality health care services. Our small team consists of two skilled physical therapists and a physical therapist assistant (PTA), all committed to delivering exceptional care and support to our patients.

Work Environment

This role requires an onsite presence, primarily in a home care setting. As a full-time Physical Therapist, you will be expected to maintain a Monday through Friday work schedule from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M., allowing for consistent patient interaction. Your office will be the patients' homes, where you will provide care tailored to their specific needs in a familiar environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and understand patients' individual goals and needs throughout their rehabilitation process.
• Manage an expected caseload of one patient every hour, ensuring personalized and focused attention.
• Deliver treatment that emphasizes cost-effective solutions to improve patients' range of motion, mobility, and overall physical health.
• Employ alternative therapeutic methods to help patients minimize reliance on medications and avoid unnecessary surgical interventions.
• Design and implement comprehensive care plans that include a variety of treatment modalities tailored to each patient's unique situation.
• Create individualized fitness and wellness programs that promote proactive health management.
• Provide high-quality, evidence-based physical therapy services that facilitate optimal patient outcomes.
• Motivate patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, enhancing their functional capabilities.
• Contribute to patients' holistic well-being by promoting strategies that improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care for all patients.
• Regularly assess treatment effectiveness, track progress, and maintain clear communication with each patient and their families.
• Meticulously document all patient care activities, adhering to legal and ethical standards for record-keeping.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work closely with a diverse range of patients who require orthopedic rehabilitation, including those recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic conditions. Each patient presents unique challenges, and your commitment to delivering personalized, compassionate care will be crucial in helping them restore their abilities and regain their independence.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
• Current and valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist in New Jersey.
• A clean professional record with no history of board or disciplinary actions.
• Strong background and proficiency in a variety of manual therapy techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective exercise protocols tailored to each patient's needs.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) software, specifically WebPT, is preferred.

Preferred Experience

While experience in orthopedic outpatient settings is required, candidates with prior experience in home health care will be especially valued. An understanding of common postoperative protocols and the ability to create engaging, patient-centered treatment plans will enhance our team's capability to serve a growing patient base.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
