Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews and accurately document patient cases from the initial consultation through the treatment process.

• Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health using standardized assessment tools and clinical interviewing techniques.
\n
• Develop customized intervention and recovery plans tailored to individuals, couples, families, and various group dynamics.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that promote participation and provide effective therapeutic interventions.
\n
• Monitor and assess client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to meet patient needs and goals.
\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including social workers, psychiatrists, and medical doctors, to ensure comprehensive patient care.

• Follow up with psychiatrists and attending physicians regarding clients admitted to hospitals, ensuring coordinated and effective care.

• Identify and address behaviors that may hinder recovery, employing evidence-based strategies to foster resilience and coping skills.

• Provide education and support to family members and primary caregivers on managing mental health challenges within the home environment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work at Avella will primarily focus on diverse client populations facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, and adjustment issues. You will provide person-centered care, striving to empower clients with the skills and resources they need for a successful recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMFT, LCPC, LCSW) in the state of Illinois.
\n
• Verified passing score on the National Counseling Exam (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice and adherence to guidelines established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Strong foundational knowledge of various psychotherapeutic techniques and practices.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of experience as a mental health counselor, with a strong understanding of both individual and group therapeutic interventions.

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, specifically AVATAR, or similar platforms.

• Experience working with patients having complex emotional and physical health conditions, including substance use disorders.

• Familiarity with psychotropic medications and their potential effects on mental health.

• Exceptional communication skills, both orally and in writing.
\n
• Strong interpersonal skills, characterized by empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation for this role ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
