Work Environment

This position is based onsite in a school, allowing you to work closely with students and educators in a familiar and supportive setting. As a Nurse Practitioner working within an educational facility, you will interact with children and adolescents of diverse backgrounds and needs, ensuring an engaging and fulfilling work environment. Flexibility in scheduling will be emphasized, accommodating school hours and student needs.

Key Responsibilities

As a Nurse Practitioner with Wellness Partner Healthcare Services, you will:

• Prescribe necessary medications and treatments to patients based on comprehensive assessments.
• Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments of students.
• Develop and implement management policies and procedures that enhance patient care in the school environment.
• Facilitate referrals to specialists and other healthcare professionals when complex healthcare needs arise.
• Maintain open lines of communication with collaborating physicians or specialists to ensure cohesive care for students.
• Provide guidance and support to clinical staff regarding patient care plans and health education initiatives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be the student population within the school system. You will address a variety of health concerns ranging from routine physicals to managing chronic conditions, and providing health education to students and staff. Understanding the unique health challenges faced by children and adolescents is crucial. You will play a pivotal role in promoting health education initiatives and ensuring students, as well as their families, receive comprehensive support.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• National certification from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
• An active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of New York.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• A Master of Science in Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or completion of an NP Certificate Program is preferred.
• The ability to thrive in a dynamic and flexible work environment that may require adapting to unexpected situations.

Preferred Experience

Prior experience in pediatric care or school-based health services would be beneficial but is not mandatory. We value candidates who demonstrate commitment to ongoing learning and professional development in the nursing field, as well as those who have experience in developing and delivering educational health programs.

Compensation and Benefits

This rewarding position comes with a competitive salary range of USD 150,000 to 160,000 per year, based on your experience and caseload.
