One Step Forward Recovery & Counseling PC is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our dynamic team in Lakewood, New Jersey. This full-time remote position offers a competitive salary range of USD 90,000 – 110,000 annually, along with additional incentives such as a sign-on bonus. As an LPC, you will play a critical role in empowering individuals on their journey toward mental wellness, specifically focusing on trauma-informed care.

This position will be operated remotely, allowing for flexibility in your work schedule. Our office remains open seven days a week from 7 am to 10 pm, which means you can balance your professional responsibilities with personal commitments effectively. In this supportive work setting, you will have access to a motivated patient population, and our dedicated scheduling team will assist you with client management so that you can focus on providing exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Professional Counselor at One Step Forward, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories and determine appropriate treatment methodologies.
\n
• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans centered on trauma recovery and resilience-building.
\n
• Offering evidence-based therapeutic interventions, specifically Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
\n
• Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process trauma, create coping strategies, and promote healing.
\n
• Collaborating closely with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary professionals to ensure integrated care for all patients.
\n
• Providing crisis intervention and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies.
\n
• Educating patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and community resources available for ongoing support.
\n
• Maintaining meticulous and confidential documentation compliant with legal and ethical standards.
\n
• Participating in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities to enhance knowledge in trauma-informed care methodologies.

• Staying informed on the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy to continuously improve the quality of care provided.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role will predominantly involve working with individuals who have experienced trauma. You will provide specialized care focusing on complex trauma responses and their manifestations, guiding individuals on pathways to healing and resilience. Whether treating adult clients or couples (with training provided), your work directly impacts their well-being and promotes sustainable recovery.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current and valid LPC licensure in the state of New Jersey.
\n
• Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication, and a compassionate, non-judgmental approach.
\n
• Ability to manage high-stress situations while remaining calm and composed.
\n
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and computer applications.

• A collaborative mindset and an eagerness to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

Although not mandatory, preferred qualifications include:

• Two years of post-licensure experience as an LPC.
