Key Responsibilities

As a Nurse Practitioner in our Internal Medicine department, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments, including taking initial patient histories and performing thorough physical examinations to identify health issues early.
• Developing and documenting individualized care plans, initiating necessary interventions while clearly communicating these plans to the healthcare team.
• Performing daily rounds to monitor patient progress, assess response to treatments, and adjust care plans as required.
• Prescribing medications, ordering laboratory tests, and arranging for essential diagnostic procedures, ensuring that all documentation is accurately recorded and maintained.
• Interpreting lab results and diagnostic tests, using those insights to inform treatment plans and manage patient care effectively.
• Collaborating with attending physicians, medical residents, and nursing staff to create a cohesive and responsive approach to patient care, focused on achieving the best outcomes.
• Documenting discharge summaries and ensuring patients have clear instructions regarding post-discharge care, follow-up appointments, and medication management.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Master’s Degree from a Nurse Practitioner Program.
• National Board Certification in the specialty area of Internal Medicine.
• Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner and Registered Professional Nurse in the State of New York.
• Possess a collaborative practice agreement or collaborative relationship attestation in compliance with New York State regulations.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this full-time Nurse Practitioner position ranges from $150,000 to $160,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
