This role is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to provide care from your chosen environment, whether it be a home office or another suitable place. At Dalton Counseling Center, we embrace modern technology to ensure seamless communication and collaboration among team members. You will leverage electronic health record systems such as AVATAR to efficiently manage client documentation, treatment plans, and therapy notes while adhering to best practices in mental health counseling.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive initial assessments, including interviews and clinical evaluations to understand each client’s unique challenges and needs.
\n
• Develop individualized treatment plans to address the specific mental, behavioral, and emotional health issues presented by your clients.
\n
• Facilitate therapeutic sessions, both individually and in group settings, to promote healing and personal growth.
\n
• Regularly monitor client progress throughout the treatment journey, making necessary adjustments to care plans as needed.
\n
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including social workers, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals, to create cohesive intervention strategies.
\n
• Conduct follow-up consultations for clients referred for inpatient care, ensuring continuity of care upon their return.
\n
• Work proactively to identify behaviors that may hinder recovery and provide strategies to overcome these barriers.
\n
• Guide family members and primary caregivers in managing the mental health challenges faced by their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work with a diverse clientele, including individuals from various backgrounds facing a range of mental health challenges. This includes, but is not limited to, anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and addiction disorders. Your ability to build rapport and foster trust will be key in helping clients navigate their therapeutic journeys and achieve positive mental health outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (LCMFT), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C) in the state of Maryland.

• Successful completion and passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interactions with clients and team members.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems to document client sessions and treatment plans.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience working as a mental health counselor, preferably in a community health setting.

• A background in addressing both physical and emotional health conditions, in addition to substance use disorders.
\n
• Familiarity with best practices and guidelines from the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Awareness of the impacts of various medications prescribed by healthcare providers.
\n
• Strong interpersonal skills, characterized by empathy and an unwavering commitment to client welfare.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 – 100,000 per year, reflecting your experience and qualifications.
