Sales Development Representative

The Role Clearstory is looking for a high energy and dynamic SDR with Construction Industry experience to join our sales team. The Sales Development Representative is tasked with identifying and generating sales opportunities through both inbound and outbound calling and emailing activities. It is a fantastic initial role in sales, developing skills and knowledge that set you on a path to an Account Executive. The right candidate will work well under pressure, think out of the box, initiate relaxed but informative two-way phone conversations with prospects, and be highly self-motivated. Responsibilities Identify and generate sales opportunities through inbound and outbound calls and emails. Engage prospects to qualify opportunity interest and schedule next steps with Account Executives. Maintain a high level of activity and pipeline development in target markets (SF Bay Area, New York, Boston). Collaborate with sales and product teams to communicate customer needs and feedback. Qualifications 2+ years of Commercial Construction Industry experience, including working on the Change Order Process, as a project engineer, project manager, or other relevant role. Nice to have: 1+ year of B2B cold-calling and CRM experience. Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to engage confidently with prospects and explain Clearstory value propositions. Willingness to adapt quickly to changing priorities and processes. Strong intellectual curiosity and desire to learn about Clearstory and the commercial construction space. Ambitious, self-motivated, and comfortable working in an early-stage company environment. Compensation: $70,000 – $100,000 annually, depending on experience. The construction industry is being transformed quickly by technology, but cost communication has not evolved in decades and still relies on manual processes such as carbon copy paper, spreadsheets, and email. At Clearstory we are creating a new category of change order communication by digitizing this process, leading to increased profits, better contractor-to-customer relationships, greater project cost transparency, and reduced paper waste. We are a Series B 100% SaaS company with strong credentials for our stage.
