Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate each patient’s trauma history and present psychological state to inform individualized treatment approaches.

• Develop, implement, and regularly review personalized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, empowerment, and resilience-building strategies.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), effectively addressing patients’ needs.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, assisting patients in identifying trauma responses, developing coping skills, and fostering community healing.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care and integration of services.

• Deliver crisis intervention and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring patients feel safe and understood.

• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping strategies, and available resources to support their recovery process.

• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and therapy sessions in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will be working primarily with individuals affected by trauma, including those dealing with PTSD, complex trauma histories, and dissociative disorders. The patients often come from diverse backgrounds, requiring a therapist who understands varied cultural perspectives on mental health. Your ability to create a trusting therapeutic relationship will be crucial in helping patients understand their experiences and navigate their recovery processes.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.

• Strong foundational knowledge of trauma-related disorders and effective trauma-informed treatment modalities.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate, non-judgmental approach towards patients.

• Proficient in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient interactions and care plans effectively.

Preferred Experience\n

• Two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, particularly in trauma-focused therapy.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive annual salary in the range of USD 90,000 to 100,000, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
