Work Environment\n

This position is a remote opportunity, allowing for flexible work arrangements while ensuring access to critical therapy services. The role is conducted in our outpatient office setting, which is designed to foster healing and connection among clients and staff. The work schedule typically runs Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

The licensed mental health therapist will perform a variety of essential duties, including but not limited to:

• Conducting thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate clients' trauma histories and inform treatment planning.

• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans centered on trauma recovery, including interventions that focus on empowerment and resilience.

• Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to aid clients in processing trauma.

• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions, helping clients develop coping strategies and a better understanding of their emotional responses.

• Collaborating with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for our clients.

• Providing crisis intervention techniques and support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring immediate care is accessible.

• Educating clients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and resources available for ongoing support.

• Maintaining precise and confidential documentation in accordance with ethical and legal standards.

• Participating in regular case consultations and professional development activities aimed at enhancing trauma-informed care practices.

• Staying abreast of the latest research, treatment modalities, and best practices in trauma therapy to continually improve patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clientele consists predominantly of individuals who have experienced significant trauma, leading to complex mental health challenges. Many of our clients are survivors of various traumatic events, including abuse, violence, and natural disasters. Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited educational institution.

• A current and valid license as either an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R within New York State.

• A strong foundational knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methodologies.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach to therapy.

• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and related computer applications essential for maintaining client records.

• The capability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations while delivering quality mental health care.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, we are eager to support emerging professionals passionate about trauma recovery. Experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and collaborations within a multidisciplinary setting will be beneficial for success in this role.
