Helping Hands Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team as we provide essential mental health care, specifically focused on individuals effected by trauma. This full-time position allows for a flexible, remote work environment while maintaining a vital connection to our clients in Tacoma, Washington.

Work Environment\n

The work setting is primarily remote, giving our therapists the flexibility to manage their schedules while providing high-quality mental health services. Our operational hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility necessary depending on patient needs. This allows our team to maintain a balance between personal life and professional responsibilities while ensuring patient access to therapy at convenient times.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments and evaluations that accurately capture patients' trauma histories.

• Develop personalized treatment plans that effectively address individual challenges and emphasize recovery from trauma.
\n
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), that support clients’ healing journeys.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process their trauma, learn coping strategies, and build resilience.
\n
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, social workers, and other professionals to provide holistic care, ensuring that all aspects of a patient's health are addressed.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention during trauma-related emergencies to ensure patient safety and stability.
\n
• Offer educational resources about trauma responses and coping mechanisms to patients and their families, fostering an understanding of trauma's impact.

• Maintain accurate and confidential patient documentation, adhering to legal and ethical standards while using electronic health record (EHR) systems.

• Engage in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development opportunities to enhance trauma-informed care practices.

• Stay informed on current research and emerging best practices in trauma therapy to continually enhance the therapeutic offerings.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will be working with a diverse range of clients who have experienced varying degrees and types of trauma. The population served includes adults and adolescents struggling with PTSD, complex trauma, grief, and related disorders. Your expertise will directly contribute to their recovery and emotional healing journey.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Must possess valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in the state of Washington.
\n
• Demonstrated understanding of trauma-related disorders and familiarity with trauma-informed modalities.
\n
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, allowing for effective interaction with clients and team members with compassion and empathy.

• Proficiency in managing stress and responding calmly in high-pressure situations.
\n
• Experience with EHR systems is essential for effective documentation and patient management.

• A collaborative mindset, ready to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, individuals with relevant internship or practicum experience in trauma-informed contexts will also be considered. Proficiency in delivering trauma-Focused therapies will enhance your application.

Compensation and Benefits\n
