Key Responsibilities\n

In your role as a Therapist, you will take on the following key responsibilities:

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions in clients’ homes and at our outpatient facility, adapting treatment methods to meet the specific needs of each child.
\n
• Implement effective therapeutic strategies to address behavioral challenges, including anger management and social skills training, aiming to reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injury or physical aggression.
\n
• Develop and maintain treatment plans that target youth and caretaker decision-making skills, thus enhancing home environment dynamics and behavioral management.
\n
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Child Family Treatment Teams, to coordinate care and leverage additional resources for the youth and families under your guidance.
\n
• Document all required information and progress in a timely manner, ensuring comprehensive records that include intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
\n
• Participate actively in monthly team meetings, contributing recommendations based on client progress and treatment outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on serving children and adolescents aged 3-20 who are experiencing developmental and intellectual disabilities. This role is crucial in enhancing quality of life for these children by addressing both psychological and behavioral components through integrated therapy. Working with families, you will provide a holistic approach that acknowledges cultural diversity and unique family dynamics, particularly for those who may be bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Possess a Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field.

• Hold an active and unrestricted LMFT license, allowing for the delivery of therapeutic services in Texas.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, particularly during after-school hours (4-7 PM). Weekend availability is beneficial.

• Ability to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, the following experience is highly valued:

• Demonstrated history of providing positive behavior support to children and families.

• Experience working directly with children aged 3-20, particularly those identified as having intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The Healing Mind and Soul Center offers a competitive salary range of USD 60,000 – 80,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition to a rewarding salary, our benefits include:
