Job Description

Embark on a rewarding contract assignment supporting early learners as a Preschool Paraprofessional in Wilmington, DE. This opportunity offers meaningful engagement with young children in structured classrooms, working directly with students who have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs). Your dedication will make a lasting impact as you collaborate daily with teaching teams to foster a positive, supportive environment for preschoolers with diverse behavioral and learning needs.

What You’ll Need:

Active Delaware Paraeducator Permit (Required. Permit must be in hand; pending permits require a DEEDS portal screenshot)
Comfort and experience in managing and redirecting challenging behaviors, including tantrums, aggression, and elopement
Prior experience working with preschoolers in a special education setting strongly preferred
Willingness to support students in C-setting classrooms with IEPs and BSPs
Ability to follow established behavior support and safety plans
Prepared to complete CBC fingerprinting at your own cost ($85)
For Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT): Independent supervision arrangements required to maintain certification

What You’ll Do:

Support preschool students through proactive behavior redirection and engagement
Collaborate with lead teachers and service providers in delivering individualized and group learning activities
Follow behavior intervention plans and actively contribute to a structured, nurturing classroom
Track and document student progress and behaviors as directed
Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students
