Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive initial consultations to evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs.

• Document client interactions and treatment progress meticulously within electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy at every step.
\n
• Develop tailored treatment and intervention plans that meet the unique needs of individuals, couples, and families, focusing on holistic and effective recovery.
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, fostering a supportive environment that encourages open communication and healing.
\n
• Monitor clients’ progress in alignment with established therapeutic goals, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as required.
\n
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nursing staff, to optimize intervention strategies and ensure comprehensive care.

• Provide follow-up support for clients transitioning to or from hospitalization, coordinating care with attending physicians as needed.
\n
• Guide and support family members and primary caregivers in managing behavioral and emotional challenges associated with mental health issues.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clients come from a diverse background and present a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. As a mental health counselor at Forest View Psychotherapy Center, you will work primarily with adults, but you may also interact with families and couples seeking support. Your contributions will have a direct impact on enhancing client well-being and promoting successful recovery outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
\n
• A successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Strong proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems for efficient document management and patient tracking.
\n
• Knowledge of mental health diagnosis and interventions, as well as an understanding of co-occurring physical and emotional health issues.
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities, along with strong interpersonal skills.
\n
• Empathy and a sympathetic approach to client interactions that foster trust and rapport.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least 2 years of professional experience in a mental health counseling role, demonstrating familiarity with a variety of therapeutic modalities.

• Experience working with addiction disorders and the challenges presented by dual diagnosis clients.
\n
• A thorough understanding of guidelines and best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Knowledgeable about the effects of commonly prescribed medications and how they may influence therapeutic interventions.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This role offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
