Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations and preliminary interviews, thoroughly documenting clients' cases from initial consultation to treatment completion.

• Assess clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health, developing individualized treatment plans tailored to address their specific challenges.
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, using a variety of therapeutic techniques to engage clients and foster healing.
\n
• Monitor clients' progress throughout their treatment journey and make necessary adjustments to the care plans based on their evolving needs.
\n
• Collaborate extensively with a multidisciplinary team, including other mental health specialists, medical professionals, and social workers, to create coordinated intervention plans.

• Follow up with psychiatrists and attending physicians regarding clients who have been hospitalized to ensure comprehensive care continuity.
\n
• Identify potential barriers or behaviors that may hinder clients' recovery and work proactively to address these issues.
\n
• Assist family members and primary caregivers in managing the complex mental and behavioral challenges posed by their loved ones, fostering a supportive environment for both clients and families.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The clientele at Caring Connections encompasses a diverse range of individuals, including adults seeking individual counseling, couples, and families struggling with various mental health issues. Our clients present with a wide spectrum of challenges including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, and addiction. The counselor will be instrumental in creating a safe space for clients to express their concerns and work towards healing, ultimately aiming for improved functional outcomes and enhanced quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Washington.

• A successful passing score on the National Counselor Exam (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor is essential for performing well in this role.

Preferred Experience\n

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, which aids in managing patient information and treatment plans effectively.

• Experience in addressing various underlying physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders, is highly valued.

• A working knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices will position candidates favorably.

• Familiarity with psychopharmacology and the effects of medications prescribed by medical specialists will be beneficial.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, combined with excellent interpersonal abilities and a naturally empathetic demeanor.

Compensation and Benefits\n
