Work Environment

The position is primarily onsite at a local school, making it a vibrant and engaging work setting where you can directly impact the health and well-being of students and their families. Your typical work hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with occasional evening clinics extending until 8:00 p.m. Participation in community outreach events and health fairs during weekends will also be part of your role, which enriches your connection with the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed health assessments and screenings for students and their families, identifying immediate and ongoing healthcare needs.
• Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic medical conditions, ensuring preventive care and health promotion are integral to your practice.
• Develop and implement health education programs in collaboration with local organizations, aimed at raising awareness and enhancing community health literacy.
• Provide culturally sensitive care to a diverse patient population, advocating for their rights and access to essential healthcare services.
• Facilitate referrals to specialized care and coordinate follow-up to ensure continuity and quality of care for all patients.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records, adhering to all regulatory standards and best practices.
• Engage in community outreach initiatives, partnering with health fairs and other local events to offer screenings and valuable health resources.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role involves working primarily with children and families from diverse backgrounds, often facing various social determinants of health challenges. Qualifications

• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner and an active nursing license in the state of Maryland.
• A Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Fluency in Spanish is essential for effective patient communication and care delivery.
• A strong commitment to social justice and advocacy for health equity, particularly for vulnerable populations.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, exhibit strong interpersonal skills, and foster collaborative relationships.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
