Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations through initial interviews to accurately assess clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional conditions.

• Develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual, couple, family, and group needs, incorporating therapeutic modalities based on the latest research and methodology.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, providing a safe environment for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings.

• Regularly monitor and document clients' progress and adapt intervention strategies as necessary to optimize recovery.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, and social workers, to create cohesive intervention plans.

• Manage referrals to other health professionals or resources, ensuring clients receive comprehensive care.
\n
• Identify potential barriers to recovery and work with clients and their families to develop strategies for overcoming these challenges.

• Engage with family members and primary caregivers to assist them in navigating mental health issues associated with their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Mental Health Counselor will work with a diverse client population that includes children, adolescents, adults, and families. Clients may present a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship problems, and substance use disorders. Your role will be pivotal in helping clients achieve mental wellness and resilience through tailored therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of New Jersey is a must.

• Successful completion of the NCE and/or NCMHCE examinations.
\n
• Proficiency in utilizing Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, for effective case management.
\n
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration and client rapport.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor in a clinical or community health setting.

• Familiarity with the best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• In-depth understanding of various therapeutic modalities and their applications.

• Knowledge of the interactions between mental health conditions and prescribed medications.

Compensation and Benefits\n
