Key Responsibilities\n

In this role, you will:

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic services, including early interventions, assessments, and treatment plans for children at risk of or diagnosed with mental health disorders, especially serious emotional disturbances (SED).
\n
• Develop and nurture collaborative relationships with community partners, representatives from day care facilities, faith-based organizations, and local schools.
\n
• Engage with multi-generational families through a variety of therapeutic interventions, including counseling services, parent education, and additional supportive family resources.
\n
• Utilize individual, group, and family therapy techniques to empower clients with coping strategies and resilience-building skills.
\n
• Deliver culturally informed education and intervention regarding trauma and adverse childhood experiences to help families navigate their unique challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with a diverse population of children aged 3-20, including those with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Your expertise and interventions will be crucial in addressing their mental health needs, navigating behavioral challenges, and fostering skill development within familial contexts.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following qualifications:

• A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field.
\n
• A current and active LMFT license in the state of California.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, preferably during after-school hours (4-7 PM) with some flexibility for weekend sessions.
\n
• Strong communication skills in both English and either Spanish or Portuguese.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for community visits as needed.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, the following experiences will enhance your candidacy:

• Previous experience supporting positive behavior in children and adolescents.

• Familiarity with providing therapeutic services to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Compensation and Benefits\n
