Work Environment

You will be working on-site in a modern hospital facility located in the vibrant town of Babylon. Our practice enjoys excellent reimbursement rates, reflecting our commitment to exceptional patient care. The regular working hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm, allowing for a balanced lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities

As a Dermatology Physician Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough physical examinations and taking detailed medical histories from patients presenting with various dermatological concerns.
• Collaborating closely with our dermatologists to assist in diagnosing and treating skin conditions, including common ailments like acne, eczema, and psoriasis.
• Performing minor surgical procedures, such as suturing and skin biopsies, to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Educating patients on skincare regimens, preventive measures, and the management of chronic skin conditions to enhance their overall health and wellness.
• Prescribing medications as needed and ensuring proper follow-up care for all assigned patients.
• Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, along with other diagnostic procedures, to inform treatment plans and enhance patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Dermatology Physician Assistant role is focused on treating a diverse patient population of all ages, from infants to seniors. Each patient offers a unique set of needs, allowing you to apply your skills in diagnosing and treating a variety of medical dermatology cases. This role provides the opportunity to make significant contributions to patient education and preventative health, ultimately improving the quality of life for those we serve.

Qualifications

• A current and active Physician Assistant Certification.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a medical setting, with strong preference given to candidates with dermatology experience.
• Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems, with at least 2 years of experience using such systems to manage patient documentation and care.
• A commitment to completing our training program designed by the dermatology specialist, scheduled Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 4 pm.
• A willingness and ability to treat patients of all ages, addressing their unique dermatological needs.

Preferred Experience

While a background in dermatology is strongly preferred, we value varied clinical experience. Candidates with additional qualifications in dermatology treatment procedures, as well as those with a history of strong patient relationships, will be highly regarded as we seek to enrich our patient care experience.

Compensation and Benefits
