Work Environment

This Physician Assistant position is onsite at our state-of-the-art surgical center in Babylon, offering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments through detailed history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations to formulate precise medical decisions.
• Order, interpret, and analyze lab results, imaging studies, and diagnostic tests, ensuring accuracy and timely action on findings.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans in coordination with supervising physicians and other medical staff, ensuring adherence to medically sound protocols.
• Perform clinical procedures within the PA's scope of practice, such as suturing wounds, managing catheter placements, and providing advanced wound care.
• Document clinical encounters meticulously in the electronic medical record (EMR) system to maintain an accurate and thorough patient history.
• Educate patients and their families about disease prevention, treatment options, and effective post-discharge care to empower them in their health journey.
• Actively participate in daily rounds, engage in case discussions, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care.
• Maintain active licensure, pursue continuing medical education, and engage in professional development activities to stay abreast of best practices in healthcare.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physician Assistant at Prime Hospital, you will predominantly serve a diverse patient population requiring surgical interventions and pre-and post-operative care. Qualifications

• Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• A current, valid Physician Assistant license to practice in the State of New York.
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Obtaining DEA registration with prescriptive authority in New York.
• Strong diagnostic, procedural, and clinical decision-making skills that reflect proficiency in handling diverse medical scenarios.

Compensation and Benefits
