Work Environment

This role is performed onsite at our modern surgical center in Babylon, NY, where our team collaborates closely to provide targeted and effective treatments. The work environment is collegial and supportive, with an emphasis on communication and teamwork. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, all committed to patient-centered care. The hours for this role are set for the night shift, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, ensuring that we continue to meet the needs of our patients around the clock.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Deliver thorough outpatient care, performing medical assessments, diagnosing conditions, developing treatment plans, and managing follow-up care for pediatric patients.
• Collaborative Approach: Work closely with our healthcare team, including physicians and support staff, to ensure a seamless, holistic approach to patient care.
• Clinical Expertise: Utilize your medical training and experience to diagnose and treat a diverse range of pediatric conditions, maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice.
• Documentation: Ensure precise medical records are maintained, thoroughly documenting patient interactions, treatment plans, and patient outcomes in accordance with established protocols.
• Compliance: Uphold all regulatory and legal standards, ensuring that medical practices comply with state and federal laws.
• Patient Education: Provide educational resources and advice to patients and their families regarding medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive care strategies to empower them in their health decisions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily serves pediatric patients who present with a variety of conditions requiring pain management and other medical interventions. Our clinic emphasizes a compassionate, empathetic approach to care, recognizing that children often face unique challenges when it comes to understanding and managing their health conditions. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a supportive environment for both patients and their families.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) with an active state license to practice.
• At least one year of clinical experience, preferably in pediatrics.
• A strong ability to communicate effectively with both patients and healthcare team members.
• Sensitivity and awareness of issues affecting low-income and ethnic minority communities.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and education.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in an outpatient pediatric setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and protocols.
• Demonstrated success in providing care for diverse patient populations.
• This position can accommodate candidates who may not have an MSN but have valid Nurse Practitioner certification and relevant hands-on experience.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from USD 110,000 to 160,000 annually, complemented by a competitive bonus structure.
